ALTERNATIVE HAIRSHOW 1986 - OBJECT TO BE DESTROYED
This presentation explored dreams and the unconscious, using Man Ray's celebrated artwork. A combination of a metronome with lover Lee Millers eye affixed with a paperclip to the swinging arm.
The oversized metronome silently watches, a counterpoint to the movement and visual performance unfolding before it. Surrealistically styled models move in spotlight, dancers in trompe l’oeil costumes move maniacally in front. “Object to be destroyed” was and is breathtakingly exciting.
